Staff Favorite: Dark Chocolate Peppermint Tea Blend
Just because the major holidays have passed doesn't mean you can't still partake in Fall and Holiday favorites. At Art of Tea, we're still enjoying seasonal teas while the weather in Los Angeles is still wintry! There's one tea that tops our team's list of favorites, and that's Dark Chocolate Peppermint.
For some Art of Tea staffers, Dark Chocolate Peppermint is the MVP of the Fall and Holiday lineup. We asked three in-house super-fans what they loved most about Dark Chocolate Peppermint and they didn't hold back reasons why this minty-sweet tea is their favorite. If you haven't tried this holiday classic, here are a few reasons why you should.
Your Introduction To Pu-erh
If you've never tried Pu-erh, it can seem intimidating. How can tea even be fermented? Isn't that just Kombucha? Nope. Not at all.
Pu-erh teas are aged and fermented in damp environments, giving them an earthy flavor. This earthiness is what makes Pu-erh a perfect base for a chocolate tea. We use Pu-erh in our Coconut Cacao Pu-erh and our Aztec Spice for this reason, too.
Evan, an Account Manager, is a huge fan of Pu-erh and loves that he can get a hint of his favorite tea's flavors while still enjoying something sweet for the holidays. Even if you're not a Pu-erh superfan like Evan, Dark Chocolate Peppermint is a great place to start discovering Pu-erh. From there, try the other chocolate teas we mentioned and then go for a single origin Pu-erh, like our Naked Pu-erh.
Cutting Calories Without Cutting Taste
There's a reason we put Dark Chocolate Peppermint in our Dessert Collection. As Chelsea from our Sales Team describes it: "It tastes exactly like the dessert, but with basically zero calories." There's no rule that desserts have to have calories at all, so why should they?
Swapping out a chocolate and peppermint cookie for a cup of Dark Chocolate Peppermint tea is an easy way to stay healthy while indulging in something decadent. It's perfect for when you want something that perfectly combines the warmth of tea with the sweet cool of mint and it can satisfy even the craziest of chocolate cravings.
Perfect for Add-Ons
The flavors in Dark Chocolate Peppermint are amazing on their own, but Honey from the Customer Support team isn't afraid of spicing up her tea even more.
"During the holiday season I like to use a candy cane as my 'sweetener,' or add Pacific Coast Mint to make it extra minty," says Honey. "I try not to indulge in chocolate sweets too much, so this is perfect for satisfying my occasional cravings for chocolate."
We also recommend adding creamer, milk, a milk substitute, or Bailey's if you're of the legal drinking age. Adding a sweet cream can bring out the chocolate and peppermint flavors in the tea while giving your drink a fuller body and mouth-feel.
However you drink your Dark Chocolate Peppermint, be sure to stock up so you can continue drinking it year-round. We only carry our Fall and Holiday teas for a limited time, so get them before they're gone!
